AUGUST - Michala is Graduating in 2009!

It's so much fun to photograph Seniors from our own School District. I have know Michala's Mom for years and we have worked on some commitees together.

It was a great to get together to plan a Senior Session which Michala would enjoy and create portraits to show her personality.

We spent an evening at Hamlin Beach, which turns out to be a favorite place for all of us. There are so many great spots to create photographs which include structures, textures and of course, the waterfront.

Best of luck in all your future endeavors, Michala!

AUGUST - "A Day at the Beach"

In August we held our "Limited Edition Special" called " A Day at the Beach". We photographed sessions at Charlotte Beach this year.
To get things off to a great start, I offered a giveaway of a Free Session and Collection on my favorite website www.kidsoutandabout.com.
The Robinson Family of Greece were the lucky winners and the children were just beautiful. We spent a beautiful August evening on the beach and the results of the session show how cooperative Elizabeth and Wyatt were.

We'll offer this again next Summer so check back next year to see the dates.

AUGUST - Ben is a Senior!

There is no better place to take your Senior Portraits than the home in which you grew up.

Ann and Gary invited me to their home for Ben's Senior Creation Session. We have known each other since Ben was very young. My daughter Morgan and he danced together at Ballet Theatre in Greece and our families spent many hours together watching classes and rehearsals, photographing performances and helping out backstage.

Their home and yard had great spots to personalize the portraits and I was even able to include some of Ben's art work in some of the images.

He will graduate in 2009 and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

AUGUST - Fun at the Falls!

Lorraine, grandmother of these 3 beautiful young ladies, introduced me to the waterfall in Holley, NY.

As many times as I have driven through the village, I never knew it existed. Tucked away just off the square, it makes a wonderful background for photographs. The girls wore beautiful dresses and we caught some cute expressions and poses.

I asked Jonathan Penney, Master Printmaker, to work on this first image and he came up with an effect that looked very vintage. It was perfect for the clothing and cute pose.

JULY - PPSNYS Workshop

I am a member of the Professional Photographers Society of New York and each year we sponsor a week long Workshop at Hobart College in Geneva, NY.
I have had the privilege of attending many times for intense study with talented photographer/teachers from around the world.
This year my class was taught by Tony Sweet and Susan Milestone. www.tonysweet.com
There aren't enough superlatives to describe the work of these two photographers. They also have an amazing teaching style. We would start each day with an early morning photo session, sometimes at dawn, followed by time to prepare files for critique. Afternoons were generally spent in the classroom and then each evening another photo session.
We explored Seneca Falls, Anthony Road Winery, Grace Gardens and Watkins Glen.
It was quite a workout and I came home with great images and new knowledge.
Thank you Tony and Susan.

And thank you to my anonymous friend!!!

JULY - Kelly and Oliver are Engaged!

I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph a "Love Story" session for my friend, Gail's son and daughter-in-law to be! They decided on Hamlin Beach for the venue which offers a great variety of settings. We walked, talked and took beautiful photographs during a beautiful summer evening and ended up watching an amazing sunset.
Their wedding in 2009 is sure to be a most elegant event! Best of luck Kelly and Oliver.

JUNE - Got to LOVE a Dancer!

What a great day we had a New York Academy of Dance! The studio is located at 1308 Buffalo Road in Gates and they are celebrating 30 years in business. www.nyadance.com Mandi Gurrell, owner/ teacher and her staff are great. It's nice to visit each year and photograph the students in their beautiful costumes.

This is Chrisi's little daughter, Rena. What a personality!

Mandi also brought in her little guy, Reece, to be photographed. Rock star in the making.

JUNE - Swinging!

Will is the sweetest little boy! He was very shy, but as soon as his Mom put him on the swing, he was ready for anything. There were great spots in the yard to photograph him and he sure has a beautiful smile.
His little sister arrived shortly after these were taken and pretty soon it will be her turn to be in the spotlight!

Summer Started off Great!

I had such fun meeting and photographing the Hall Family of Greece. Cousin Zoe referred them to me and I am so thankful for that.

We found a really pretty spot, right in back of Olympia HS, for the Session. You'd never know we were right next to 390!

Caleb is such a little cutie!

He was smiling the whole time. I am looking forward to seeing him change and grow and watch him welcome his new sibling into the world.

Welcome to my new BLOG!

I am so excited to begin this journey and hope you will check in often to see what's happening with the studio.

I had so much fun with my clients this past summer and was privileged to have some really great sessions in some of my favorite places. Since there never seemed to be enough time to get this started while we had beautiful weather, I'm just getting this off the ground now. I still wanted to share some of the sessions from earlier this year so you can see where we've been!

Check them out!
