Collaboration

Way back in June, my friend, Kathy Hensel Porter,  brought her dear little Tessa to the Studio for portraits. Both Tessa and Kathy were in need of a business portrait since there was a book in progress.

It wasn't initially the plan to use Tessa's cute face for the cover photo.  After trying some other ideas, Kathy determined that it would make her happiest to have her very own, long time friend, be the one to welcome you when reading her stories in "Love Always Wags It's Tail".

The book was launched on Amazon just before Christmas and is now on the top 100 list! You can download to your Kindle here. The paperback version is now out!  If you're a dog person, this is just the book for you!

Thoughts

Tree of Life
Author: Unknown

From the Tree of Life each leaf must fall.
The green, the gold, the great, the small.
Each one in God's own time He'll call.
With perfect love, He gathers all.

Raptor Visit

It's very unusual for us to see a hawk on the lake side of the house. This red tailed hawk stopped by our front yard yesterday and when I woke up this morning, he was back! What a beautiful site to look our your window and see this majestic bird. Hope he keeps us company for a long time!

Around the Corner

A snowy day makes me realize that Winter is almost here. Snowy scenes always look so beautiful! With the lake, ponds and bays all around us, we don't have to go far for places to photograph.

A Great Reason to Get the Blog Going Again

It's time to get this blog going again!
Since there would be just too much to write if I were to bring everyone up to date on life here at DeLapa Photography, I decided it would be best just to start from today and go on.
There is no better way to start than by sharing a volunteer project that I am participating in through the organization Professional Photographers' Society of New York State.
I am very proud to be a member of this group and happy to be able to offer my talents to those who have been affected by Hurricane Sandy.
If you know someone whose treasured family photographs were damaged by the storm, please have them contact me or anyone on the list of volunteers here.

PPSNYS Volunteer Restoration Program for Victims of Hurricane Sandy

Below is a list of Photographers you may contact that will assist in restoring your photos damaged by Hurricane Sandy.  PPSNYS is offering this as a volunteer public service, and will assist in restoring up to 10 photos (up to a size of 8x10) for hurricane victims in The Greater New York Region.

This volunteer public service is provided by PPSNYS members listed below and cooperating photo labs. Quantity, size and type will be done at the discretion of PPSNYS volunteers and may be subject to shipping and handling and any other agreed upon fees for additional quantities or special services and available discounted pricing for hurricane victims.  This offer is subject to change without notice.

It is anticipated that this program will run through February 28, 2013 -- subject to an earlier conclusion by posting at www.ppsnys.com
