An Exciting New Venture

I am pleased and excited to announce that I have become part of a new venture in stock photography.

For years, along with my portrait business, I have been photographing stock photos everywhere I go. I have had the privilege of exhibiting work at the High Falls Gallery in Rochester, NY, where my prints and cards were also sold in the Gift Shop. I had a shop in the Craft Antique Co-op in Greece, NY and sold work there for many years.
Preparing work for sale and exhibit seems to take an inordinate amount of time and I've come to the conclusion that there are other ways of showcasing my stock photography.

When friend and colleague, Monroe Payne invited me to participate in his new company, I jumped at the opportunity. The target date for the business to go live is late Spring but you can read a little about it on the blog. http://ithacastock.blogspot.com/

Take a look and follow the blog, then stay tuned for more!

The Shoemaker's Daughter

Beautiful Snowflakes
It's always my own family who are photographically neglected just like the story says.

My daughter performed in the Flower City Ballet's Nutcracker in December, just before the holidays.
With the celebrations, business and normal everyday obligations, I've just begun to process all the images. There are many to go through ( I should belong to Overshooter's Anonymous ), but I have some of Morgan's favorites finished and thought I would post some. I'm planning to make them in to a slideshow which will include more of the performance itself.

We really enjoyed seeing Morgan dance again and she definitely sparkled on stage!

Gettysburg, PA - Revisited - A Slideshow!

A new year and a new option has made it possible for me to present images from our Portrait Sessions and travel photography in a different way!

A trip to Gettysburg, PA in May 2009 resulted in the perfect set of photographs for this purpose. I posted how this trip came about last year and you can read it here:
http://delapaphoto.blogspot.com/2009/07/self-assignment-in-gettysburg-pa.html

I am pleased to share this presentation with the BCC families who were involved in this unique event. I enjoyed meeting many of you and listening to your children sing.

The music is provided by the Greece Choral Society, directed by Ralph Zecchino, accompanied by Sandy Zecchino, a group with which I was singing when this recording was made.

TURN UP THE VOLUME AND ENJOY!

Finger Lakes Holiday Party

I belong to a great group of photographers who meet monthly. We are the Finger Lakes Section http://flppsny.com of the Professional Photographers Society of New York State. http://ppsnys.com
Long name, but the purpose of the organization is simple.

The Finger Lakes Section is a section of the Professional Photographers' Society of New York State, Inc. (PPSNYS) which is an affiliate of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA).\

The PPSNYS, Inc. is a not for profit association formed in 1905 solely to instruct its members and the general public in photography; and to create, foster, promote and encourage the exchange of information among its members and the public.

The PPA is a worldwide association that exists to assist its members in achieving their professional, artistic and fraternal goals; promote public awareness of the profession; and to advance the making of images in all of its disciplines as an art, a science and a visual recorder of history.

Each year in December we hold a Holiday Party with a gift exchange, dinner and lots of conversation. This year we had a great turnout and a good time was had by all.

I really enjoy my Finger Lakes friends!
