A Unique Spring

I am amazed that Spring has been so warm this year. Places I visit and photograph on an annual basis have bloomed almost a month early! I photographed these cherry blossoms two weeks ago at Highland Park and when I visited a week later, they had already fallen from the trees. This beautiful patch of daffodils had a flood of forsythia blooming behind it and the next week, they were done.

The Magnolia, which usually bloom around Mother's Day are dropping petals already. Is 2010 an aberration or will this be a trend? Only time will tell.

Living along the lakeshore, flowers bloom later and once they bloom, they usually last longer because of the cooler weather. Our Daffodils and tulips are just blossoming now and are still beautiful. The apples trees are just beginning to bud and we should see acres of blossoms in another week or so.
The roads around Hilton and Hamlin give great views of pink and white trees. It's a lovely sight!

I'll be out taking photographs when they are in full bloom. Check back soon!
