Hamlin Celebrates Earth Day

The Hamlin Conservation Board, Hamlin Beach State Park, the Lions Club and The College at Brockport, SUNY came together to sponsor the 3rd Annual Earth Day in the Park on April 24, 2010.

Exhibitors displayed ways to save energy, keep the environment clean, use alternate energy sources, recycle, enjoy birding and many other ideas. Crafters displayed their wares and neighbors worked to clean up the beaches.

A variety of food was served by volunteers and was enjoyed  by all. There was a tree giveaway again this year and Raffle items were donated and prizes were sent home with many lucky winners.

It was a beautiful day to be in the park and to top off a great day, the Dady Brothers, John and Joe, were there to perform their favorite tunes. Tours of the Spring Brook Marsh and the CCC/POW Camp were offered at the end of the festivities.

This event gets bigger and better each year! Thank you to everyone who donated goods, services and time to make it a success.
